Tempest is partnering with a thriving SEMH school in Sutton, seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team. The school is a nurturing and inclusive environment that values each learner's achievements. The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Work closely with students to enhance their academic progress and overall learning experience.
  • Foster a nurturing approach to encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • De-escalate challenging behaviours effectively using proven techniques.
  • Utilize sensory breaks to help regulate students and maintain a calm environment.
  • Collaborate with staff to create strategies that improve student outcomes.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH students.
  • The ability to commit to a full-time schedule, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM).
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one).
  • Reliable transportation to the school in Merton.
