About the RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to become part of a welcoming primary school in Sutton. In this role, you will work one-on-one with a Key Stage 1 (KS1) student with SEN, focusing on their unique needs and helping them succeed in the classroom.
As an integral part of the team, you will contribute to the student's educational, emotional, and social development. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative school environment dedicated to supporting young learners in reaching their full potential through dynamic and engaging activities.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities- Provide dedicated 1-to-1 support to a child with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist teachers in preparing resources and maintaining an inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage the child's learning and development through structured activities and play.
- Track and document the child's progress, sharing updates with staff and parents.
- Uphold safeguarding policies to maintain a safe and positive environment.
- Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, especially in one-on-one roles with SEN children, is highly desirable.
- A compassionate and patient approach, coupled with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to adapt to the unique needs of children and promote their personal growth.
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and children's welfare.
