Behaviour Mentor
Location: Sutton, SM1
Payscale: £95-110 per day
Contract: Long-term to Permanent
Start Date: ASAP Start/September Start
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary School Behaviour Mentor to join one of our fantastic schools in Sutton. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and supporting the emotional well-being of our primary school students.
The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide individualised support to students with SEN and/or behavioural difficulties, helping them to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural challenges.
- Develop and implement behaviour intervention plans in collaboration with teachers and other school staff.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians.
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour changes.
- Work closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to support students with additional needs.
- Deliver workshops and training sessions on behaviour management strategies for staff and parents.
- Assist the classroom teacher with lesson planning and preparation, adapting materials to meet the needs of students with ASD.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education, Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience working with primary school-aged children in a behavioural support role.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate
- Brilliant communication and collaborative skills
- Patient and empathic personality and ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
