With a talented, hard-working, and high-performance team, the business has built a market-leading reputation.  Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their business on a permanent basis

This is a fast-paced role and my client is looking for an  equally enthusiastic candidate to join and support the leadership team. As the Financial Controller, you will manage financial operations, analyse financial data, and develop strategies to improve financial performance. You will also oversee the work of the accounts assistant and work closely with the senior leadership team to provide financial guidance and support to achieve financial objectives.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Provide robust, timely, and insightful management accounts.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, forecast future performance, and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Develop standardized reporting from the accounting system.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, recommending changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage contact with HMRC and external accountants, support the annual audit, and assist in tax return preparation.
  • Review and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Manage the monthly payroll process.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting at the branch level.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with overall business objectives.
  • Grow into a more senior position as the business expands.

Professional Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified in ACA or ACCA, or an internationally recognized chartered accounting qualification.
  • 1-2 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Experience working in or with owner-managed businesses.
  • Understanding of Corporate Tax and VAT.
  • Experience with iPlicit accounting system is a plus but not essential.
