Our client, a charming British pub dating back to the 1600s, is looking for a talented Sous Chef to join their team. Nestled just off the scenic Thames Path in the historic town of Cricklade, the pub is renowned for its traditional atmosphere and quality cuisine.

As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef to deliver outstanding culinary experiences. With over five years of kitchen experience, you'll bring leadership, skill, and creativity to the kitchen, while helping to maintain the high standards customers expect.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • At least 5 years of professional kitchen experience
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and sanitation
  • Ability to follow the Head Chef's instructions with precision
  • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to train and inspire junior staff

What will your role look like?

  • Ensure the Head Chef has everything needed to prepare daily dishes
  • Organise and maintain a clean, efficient food preparation area
  • Supervise Line and Prep Cooks to guarantee dishes are made to the Head Chef's standards
  • Train new kitchen staff on our standards and health regulations
  • Resolve any diner complaints quickly and professionally
  • Monitor food quality and kitchen sanitation
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and ensuring ingredients are fresh and up to date
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of kitchen routines, utensils, and culinary techniques
