Control Engineer

Full time - Permanent - Core Hours (Monday to Friday) - Swindon, parking on site

Are you a Control Engineer looking to join a thriving manufacturing team to support the ongoing development of the plant within the green energy sector?

The role:

  • Day-to-day technical support for plant control system, troubleshooting with resolution, ensuring it is well maintained with reactive and PPM.
  • Define and implement changes to control system code.
  • Review the basis of design, specifications and other documentation, identify and resolve discrepancies from the original proposal/contract with escalation.
  • Develop sequences, cause & effects tables, I/O Schedules for projects and additions.
  • Ensure compliance with design processes and procedures, quality procedures and project QA plan.
  • Support with operation training to the ops &maintenance teams and the ongoing development of EC&I Techs.
  • Contribute to the development of commissioning protocols and plans.
  • Ensure stock holding of spares is adequate (control systems).

The Person:

  • BEng in control, process or instrumentation engineering or related degree
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming and DCS integration
  • Experience in planning, organising, monitoring and reporting of activities of others.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and third part contractors
  • Ability to multi-tasks, working to strict deadlines
  • Understanding of project planning and execution
  • Experienced with analysis and problem solving
  • Good knowledge of standard specifications and codes - Instrumentation and Control
  • Able to work independently or as part of team effectively
