Role Overview
As a Buyer, you will support the procurement of direct materials and manage Sub-Contract processes to ensure operational efficiency. You will play a key role in supplier management, cost-saving initiatives, and inventory control while ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Supply Chain Management - Purchase direct materials in line with MRP actions and operational needs.
- Supplier Coordination - Manage Sub-Contract suppliers to ensure delivery and process alignment.
- Supplier Relationships - Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.
- Inventory Control - Support stock management to align with business demands.
- Quality Assurance - Ensure purchased materials meet customer specifications.
- Cost-Saving Initiatives - Identify and contribute to cost-reduction strategies across the supply chain.
What We're Looking For
- Procurement Experience - Background in purchasing, supply chain, or procurement (CIPS qualification or relevant training is desirable but not essential).
- ERP/MRP & IT Skills - Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Detail-Oriented - Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Negotiation & Communication - Excellent skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
