About the Role

As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where young people can thrive. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality care and safeguarding while maximising the life chances of Looked After Children.

Your Day-to-Day
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring high-quality care and safeguarding for children in a dual-registration home, maximising the life chances of Looked After Children.

  • Assist in the daily management of two dual-registered homes, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and security.

  • Implement recommendations from Ofsted Inspections and Regulation 44 visits, reporting to the Group Operations Director when required.

  • Contribute to the Care Planning process by:

    • Attending and preparing for childrens conferences, reviews, planning meetings, and core group sessions.

    • Ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of childrens records.

    • Completing delegated tasks from the Care Planning process to a high standard.

  • Maintain all records according to company policies, regulations, and statutory requirements.

  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all duties and information encountered.

  • Participate in supervision sessions and appraisal processes.

  • Work with the management team to prepare and implement a rota system ensuring the safety, security, and care of the children.

  • Perform additional duties as required by the service needs or as directed by the Registered Manager or Group Operations Director.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced professional with a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Essential:
  • Must hold a Level 3 NVQ in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent.

  • At least one year of management experience and two years in a childrens residential setting or similar residential services.

  • Demonstrable knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • Must possess a full UK driving licence.

  • An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment.

Desirable:
  • A qualification such as CQSW/DipSW/NVQ 4 in Care or Management, Level 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People), or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
