WORKING HOURS: Annualised Hours, Flexible working required

As with any agricultural business they are dictated by the weather, which means during the busy period you will be required to work more than the core hours, but this may be balanced by working less hours during the quieter periods. Therefore, you will be employed on an annualised hours contract.

PLEASE NOTE:A full manual driving licence is essential

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Depot Assistant / Warehouse Operative & Driver who has excellent customer service, organisational and time-management skills and knowledge of the local road networks.

Working as the Depot Assistant / Warehouse Operative & Driver you will provide essential warehousing and administrative support to both the commercial and local distribution teams.

As the Depot Assistant / Warehouse Operative & Driver your responsibilities include supporting the Depot Supervisor to ensure stock is stored correctly, the site is kept clean and tidy, and goods are delivered promptly.

As a successful candidate you will be highly organised, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to seamless depot operations whilst exceeding customer expectations.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Depot Assistant / Warehouse Operative & Driver include:

  • Load, drive and unload the vehicle within the regulations laid down by BASIS, statute and the Company
  • Maintain accurate and timely vehicle records and tachograph charts
  • Maintain vehicles in a clean and safe condition, reporting any defects
  • Operate a forklift truck safely
  • Assist in the maintenance of a safe and efficient storage and distribution operation
  • Assist in unloading and moving stock around the depot
  • Assist in maintaining the depot in a clean and tidy condition
  • Deliver goods promptly and cost effectively
  • Assist with customer enquiries, both over the telephone and face to face

  • Full clean driving licence
  • Knowledge of product storage solutions
  • Knowledge of local area and appropriate routes
  • Knowledge of agrochemicals
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • IT literate
  • Understanding of transport regulations
  • Farming / agriculture experience (desirable)
  • ADR / CPC licence
  • BASIS Storekeeper qualification
  • Forklift truck licence
