Responsibilities of the SEMH HLTA:

  • Implementing student safeguarding and welfare policies
  • Assessing, reporting and giving feedback regarding students' needs and progress
  • Monitor pupils conduct and behaviour throughout their timetable
  • Collaborate with SLT to ensure high quality personal care of the students
  • Promote and encourage independence and personal development
  • Work with students on a 1:1 and group basis on education programmes
  • Cooperate with colleagues, professionals and parents with education plans

  • Providing pastoral support to support children with SEMH needs
  • To deliver interventions and behaviour management strategies
  • Understand and assist the Class teacher's curriculum and enrichment to plan, prepareand implement different activities
  • Collaborate with SENCO to tailor students' education to their individual needs
  • Mentor and provide role model guidance to new staff and less experienced TAs
