Assistant Finance Manager

Assistant Finance Manager - £40,000 to £50,000Location: Andover – Full Time Office Based

Role Overview:Based full time in this office this is a hands-on role that supports the production of management accounts.  You’ll play a key part in ensuring the financial health of the organisation, with responsibilities across the monthly accounting cycle. There will be travel as part of the role to other sites across the South East. 

Key Duties:•    Oversee daily financial operations, including bookkeeping, invoicing, and reconciliations.•    Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheets.•    Assist in preparing annual financial statements and liaise with external accountants for tax filings.•    Ensure compliance with VAT returns•    Implement stock control procedures, including regular stock takes and variance analysis.•    Analyze product costs•    Review pricing models •    Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts to guide business strategy.•    Forecast revenue and expenses based on seasonal trends•    Implement credit control policies, ensuring timely collection of payments from clients.•    Manage supplier payments •    Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, promotions, and business growth initiatives.•    Implement and improve accounting systems and financial controls.

Ideal Candidate:Please note you will need to drive as this role will require you to go to other locations. •    Minimum AAT qualification, with a solid understanding of double-entry accounting.•    Proficiency in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) to handle financial data effectively.•    Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero or QuickBooks) is advantageous.•    Strong attention to detail, with a commercial mindset to support business growth and profitability.•    Ideally some knowledge of working in a cost / pricing driven background
