They're looking to hire a Science Teacher with a specialism in Physics and Chemistry to start permanently in September 2025!
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver inspiring and interactive Physics lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
- Use innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student engagement and understanding.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring
- Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and achievement.
- Provide detailed, constructive feedback to students to support their academic development.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
Curriculum Development
- Collaborate with the Science Department to create and refine the Physics curriculum.
- Ensure all teaching aligns with national curriculum standards and school policies.
- Contribute to departmental meetings and share best practices.
Pastoral Care and Safeguarding
- Act as a form tutor, supporting students' personal development and well-being.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
- Adhere to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining a commitment to student welfare.
Extra-Curricular Contributions
- Participate in and potentially lead science-related clubs, trips, or enrichment activities.
- Support school events and initiatives, promoting a culture of engagement and community.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- A strong academic background with a degree in Physics/Chemistry or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable experience teaching Physics in a secondary school setting, including A-Level.
Skills and Attributes
- A passion for Physics and a commitment to inspiring young minds.
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Strong classroom management skills, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
