We are working alongside a high-achieving, mixed secondary school located in the heart of Berkshire, known for its strong community ethos and academic excellence. They're looking to hire a Science Teacher with a specialism in Physics and Chemistry to start permanently in September 2025!

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning

  • Deliver inspiring and interactive Physics lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Use innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student engagement and understanding.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring

  • Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and achievement.
  • Provide detailed, constructive feedback to students to support their academic development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.

Curriculum Development

  • Collaborate with the Science Department to create and refine the Physics curriculum.
  • Ensure all teaching aligns with national curriculum standards and school policies.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and share best practices.

Pastoral Care and Safeguarding

  • Act as a form tutor, supporting students' personal development and well-being.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Adhere to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining a commitment to student welfare.

Extra-Curricular Contributions

  • Participate in and potentially lead science-related clubs, trips, or enrichment activities.
  • Support school events and initiatives, promoting a culture of engagement and community.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • A strong academic background with a degree in Physics/Chemistry or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrable experience teaching Physics in a secondary school setting, including A-Level.

Skills and Attributes
