Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide support to students with SEN, implement various teaching methods to meet their unique requirements.
  • Help teachers during lessons, making sure students remain engaged and focused.
  • Employ behaviour management strategies and promote positivity in the classroom.
  • Prepare and organise teaching materials, visual aids, and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), parents, and external agencies.
  • Maintain essential records of student progress and interventions.

Qualifications and Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Certificate or Diploma in Childcare and Education).
  • Experience working with individuals with severe learning difficulties or other SEN.
  • Excellent communication skills and empathy.
