Pertemps Aylesbury is currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our client based in Tring - Hertfordshire.
Hours: rotating (week 1 - 5 am-2 pm Mon- Fri), (week 2 - 10 am - 7 pm and Saturday am and Sunday am. (50.5)
Our client is recruiting for an experienced Transportation Supervisor to oversee the logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing transportation activities, ensuring efficient delivery of goods, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to manage a team effectively within a fast-paced environment.
This role will involve a hands-on approach and supervision outdoors ref loading and unloading of vehicles and additional yard duties.
Duties:
- Supervise daily transportation operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Manage and coordinate logistics activities, including route planning and scheduling.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities using computer systems, including Excel and Outlook.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the transportation department.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the transportation or logistics sector.
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficient in computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities.
