Now is an exciting time to join a growing award-winning designer, and manufacturer of specialist scientific products as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
Based in Uxbridge and reporting to the Head of Development, you will be creating engineering drawings of thin metal components, CNC machined parts and prototype designs.
As a proficient user of CAD software, such as Autodesk INVENTOR Professional and AutoCAD Mechanical, you should have expertise in designing small component parts, as well as assembly jigs and fixtures.
In addition to creating mechanical designs you will maintain and control design drawings to meet relevant standards.
Supporting your designs, you will source component parts from external suppliers and
oversee the assembly of prototype designs.
The variety of designs will include new products, parts and also existing product lines.

Qualifications and Experience:
As the successful Mechanical Design Engineer, you should have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar Mechanical Design role and hold at least a Degree in Mechanical Design. Equivalent experience will be considered.
With previous experience in a similar role, you should be able to adopt and refine existing designs, including 3D modelling and performing structural analysis with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Familiarity with British and European Technical and Legislative Standards (BS, ISO, DIN, GOST, ANSI, AS, GB).
