Role Overview:We are seeking a skilled Council Tax Specialist with a strong background in billing and recovery to support Walsall Council's Revenues and Benefits Service. This role plays a key part in helping to clear a current backlog and ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer valuation, billing, collection, and enforcement of Council Tax and Business Rates

  • Respond to customer and stakeholder enquiries via telephone, letter, and electronic methods

  • Provide accurate advice and information in accordance with relevant legislation and council procedures

  • Maintain financial and operational systems in line with government standards

  • Deliver a responsive and efficient service to all customers

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Council Tax billing and recovery

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and local government procedures

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage caseloads independently

Additional Information:

  • This is a remote role following equipment collection on day one
