Operations Manager

Gleeson has been partnered with a Manufacturing business looking for a Operations Manager in the Production Area of the business. This business has organically grown and is looking to further there expansion with with a Process Driven Operations Professional.

Locations: Walsall

Duties:

• Ensure all RAs and SOPs for Bar Production are current and accessible. Maintain the training matrix and identify concerns. Participate in PUWER assessments, manage statutory compliance inspections, and actively contribute to H&S communications and culture. Conduct safety walks, and report findings to the Group H&S Manager.
• Provide mutual holiday cover with the Toll point Operations Manager. Support investment programmes for H&S and productivity. Address staff welfare and identify training needs.
• Collaborate to implement systems that track machine downtime and servicing costs, using the data to recommend productivity and reliability improvements.
• Treat Sales as the customer, maintain a real-time production programme, and communicate delivery schedules. Manage PRDs, investigate NCRs, and ensure adherence to processes and procedures.
• Identify and execute improvement initiatives. Engage the team, measure performance, and report progress to Senior Management.
• Communicate business goals, provide performance feedback, and foster a two-way communication culture. Develop multi-skilled operators through targeted training.
• Understand and apply OSSL's Quality Management System. Address quality issues, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with updated processes.
• Maximise the use of Steel Manager, ensure documentation accuracy, and align operational processes with best practices.
• Ensure compliance with H&S and Quality procedures, manage inductions, PPE provision, disciplinary actions, and absenteeism. Promote a safe working environment.
• Regularly assess and improve your performance, enhance communication skills, develop KPIs, and build relationships with stakeholders.
