Academics work with a Warrington based Primary School who are looking for a long term HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant), presenting a fantastic opportunity to work in an Ofsted rated 'Good' Primary School and to help children to improve and progress.

You will have the opportunity to work as an HLTA with children across all Year group from EYFS to Y6, and you'll certainly have lots of support. This will be a chance to work in a lively and friendly working environment where the Teaching staff are passionate about what they do and the children are enthusiastic and love coming to school.

Your day to day duties:

  • Create and run intervention groups.
  • Work on a 1 to 1 basis with children with special needs.
  • To cover classes for teachers who are unavailable due to sickness, holidays, PPA time, playground duties or training.
  • General in class support along with the Teacher.

In order to be considered for the role you will need an HLTA qualification (Level 5), or possibly a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, and experience of working as a HLTA in the classroom. Alternatively an Early Career Teacher who is looking for a different route to develop their classroom experience.

You would also need to:

  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be driven and ambitious with the ability to aid the children's growth and development.
  • Develop fantastic relationships with the pupils, your fellow teacher and the parents.
  • Have experience of creating and running intervention groups in the likes of Maths or Literacy.
  • Have SEN experience.
  • Possess excellent behaviour management skills and strategies.
  • Be flexible in your approach and a great team player.
