Our client is a truly market leading brand with multiple sites in the UK are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst/Management Accountant to join their site based in Gaydon - an exciting place to work

We are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst with experience of Supply Chain and or Logistics to take ownership of a large contract with a freight forwarder on behalf of our client

Role Purpose:

The role will support the Operations Senior Finance Manager in providing financial reporting, support & guidance to the local management teams, and ensuring financial controls are maintained.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure financial controls are robustly maintained.
  • Month end accounting & reporting activities, typically journals, analysis, investigation.
  • Financial analysis of monthly results, project plans, ad-hoc requests (variances v budget, forecast and plans) and management briefings.
  • Support production of key performance indicators including unit costs & total delivered cost.
  • Preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and business plans.
  • Lead the financial section of the regular monthly meetings with key supplier. Ensure their assumptions, base figures and variances are understood and sufficiently challenged.
  • Ensure all proposed savings projects, kaizen projects and gainshare proposals are validated and on completion ensure valuations are correct.
  • Verify Outbound freight costs and support any proposed tender activities to reduce future costs.
  • Capital investment project assessments, approval and reporting.
  • Financial administration, review & authorization activities, including purchase orders, headcount approvals, internal procedures, report pack preparation etc.
  • Attend & where necessary lead finance meetings with local managers, in person and remotely.
  • Process review & Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Deputise for the Senior Operations finance Manager when required.

Qualification & Experience:

  • In-depth accounting & reporting experience within a large company environment with demanding timetables.
  • Good IT & strong MS Office skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication & reporting skills
  • Proactive & organized approach to work & demonstrated problem solving experience.
