Young People’s Project WorkerRef: 85650

A well respected housing provider based in the Hertfordshire area are looking to recruit a Young People’s Project Worker to join their friendly team working with homeless young people. This is a temporary contract for around three months and you will be required to work up to 21.5 hours per week.

Hours: 21.5 hours per week (no weekend requirement)Duration: Temporary – Three months ongoingLocation: South Oxhey, HertfordshireShifts: Monday, Thursday and Friday and one other day in the week

Pay: £14.00 per hour including holiday pay at 12.07%

Main duties of the role:• Working with a caseload of young people in their own accommodation ages 16-25• Dealing with young people suffering from mental health issues and drug and alcohol misuse• Carrying out support plans and risk assessments• Teaching life skills and preparing the young people to live independently in the community• Supporting clients with budgeting and applying for housing benefits to reduce rent arrears• Actively encouraging and facilitating activities to engage and involve the young people• Promoting independence at all times• Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times• Updating notes and records ensuring they are concise and accurate

Essential requirements:• An enhanced DBS from within the last three years or willingness to obtain one• Experience working with vulnerable young people in a supported living environment• Due to the location of the project, a car is useful but not essential
