My client, an automotive parts manufacturing group, is currently embarking on a number of IT transformation projects as part of a business-wide transformation improvement programme. As part of this work, my client is seeking to hire an IT project coordinator / PMO consultant (outside IR35). This role will assist the IT director and assist in coordinating workstreams across a diverse array of projects covering applications, analytics, and infrastructure domains.

The Project Coordinator will work closely with the CIO and various stakeholders to ensure effective project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting. A prior understanding of working within IT project managed is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning & Coordination:

o Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating project plans, schedules, and timelines.

o Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment, and information across multiple IT initiatives.

o Support the alignment of project objectives with organizational goals.

  1. Stakeholder Management:

o Act as a key liaison between the CIO, project teams, and other stakeholders.

o Facilitate regular meetings, including preparation of agendas, documentation, and follow-ups.

o Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

  1. Monitoring & Reporting:

o Track project progress against defined milestones and deliverables.

o Prepare and distribute regular status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.

o Monitor and update project logs, including risk registers, issue logs, and action trackers.

  1. Change Management:

o Support the CIO in implementing changes to project plans as required.

o Ensure change control processes are followed and documented appropriately.

  1. Risk & Issue Management:

o Identify potential risks and issues impacting project timelines and deliverables.

o Assist in developing mitigation strategies and monitor action plans to address them.

  1. Documentation & Compliance:

o Maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring accuracy and version control.

o Ensure compliance with internal policies, standards, and governance frameworks.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in project coordination within IT
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IT domains such as Applications, Analytics, and Infrastructure.
