Assistant Accountant

We are seeking an Accountant to join my clients finance team within a growing multinational corporation. This role involves a variety of duties including daily and monthly accounting tasks, financial reporting, and analysis. The successful candidate will report will play a key role in their financial operations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform general accounting duties including the preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and manage company Capex reporting.
  • Prepare and file multiple jurisdiction tax and VAT returns in a timely manner.
  • Assist in sales tax and/or property tax audits.
  • Play a complementary role in various stages of the annual budget preparation.
  • Manage operating lease reporting, including various escalating leases.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with external Semi-Annual Review and Annual Financial Statement Audits, including preparation of various footnote disclosures.
  • Conduct daily accounting activities such as bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies, processing and entry of vendor invoices, and resolving queries.
  • Check sales invoices and produce daily sales reports to the USA.
  • Provide cover for colleagues during holidays, absences, and busy periods.
  • Ensure all debtor, cash, and bought ledger payments are promptly and accurately recorded.
  • Participate in various credit control and collection activities.
  • Agree all aging, receivable, and payable balances with the General Ledger.
  • Enter payments onto banking systems in preparation for authorisation of payment.
  • Manage petty cash and employee expenses.
  • File purchase and sales invoices, expenses, journals, and other accounts correspondence.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified by Experience or Part / Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Advanced PC skills with Microsoft Office Excel and intermediate skill level with PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience utilising and extracting data from an ERP system.
  • Demonstrated track record of project management: identifying, owning, and driving projects to completion.
  • Foreign language skills in French or German would be a plus but not a requirement!
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a small team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan, set priorities, and complete multiple work assignments in a timely manner.
