Our client are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior School Administrator to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong leadership, organisational, and financial management skills to play a key part in supporting the operational excellence of the school.
Role Overview:
As a Senior School Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the school. In addition to your core administrative duties, you will take on the additional responsibility of the School Business Manager, overseeing financial and operational management, as well as leading exam coordination and administration across all year groups. This is a hands-on, leadership role requiring a proactive, detail-oriented approach and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- School Business Management:
- Oversee the financial management of the school, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
- Lead and manage school operations, including facilities, procurement, and health & safety.
- Manage the school's staffing and HR administration in collaboration with the Headteacher and other senior leaders.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Exam Administration:
- Lead the coordination and organisation of public exams (GCSEs, A-Levels, etc.) for all year groups.
- Ensure exam schedules, venue arrangements, and invigilation are managed smoothly and in compliance with regulations.
- Manage exam entries, results analysis, and ensure effective communication with staff, students, and parents.
- Oversee the management of exam appeals, invigilators, and exam-related documentation.
- Senior Administrative Duties:
- Provide high-level administrative support to the senior leadership team and contribute to the efficient operation of the school.
- Manage school communication systems, ensuring all relevant information is distributed effectively to staff, students, and parents.
- Coordinate the management of school policies and procedures.
- Support the Headteacher and other senior leaders with strategic planning and reporting.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in school administration, with a focus on business management, exam coordination, and leadership.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management, financial reporting, and procurement.
- Knowledge and understanding of exam regulations and the exam cycle.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management software.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience with Arbour/SIMS or other school management software.
- Experience with School Finance software, purchase orders etc.
