Reed Accountancy & Finance is actively seeking a proactive and results-driven Credit Controller for a temporary assignment lasting up to 4 months, located in Kings Hill. The ideal Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the debts of the business, ensuring timely payments are made, processing incoming funds, and resolving account queries.

Credit Controller Key Responsibilities:

  • Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email, and letter within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity as a Credit Controller.
  • Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness as part of the Credit Controller duties.
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms as a skilled Credit Controller.
  • Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries.
  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries.
  • Undertake account reconciliations.
  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required by the Credit Controller position.
  • Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time.
  • Develop the Credit Controller role to reduce debtor days.
  • Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Finance Manager or any other person designated in their absence.

Credit Controller Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller.
  • Good understanding of credit control procedures and principles.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, databases, and accounting software.
  • Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations as a Credit Controller.
