A well-established and forward looking firm of Chartered Accountants based in Wetherby is seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager to join the team.This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a client-facing role, managing their own portfolio while playing a key part in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounts department. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to ensure a high standard of client service and departmental efficiency.Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and assisting in their development.
  • Supporting the Accounts Manager in the operational management of the accounts department.
  • Ensuring the smooth delivery of services including year-end accounts, VAT, and management reporting.
  • Playing a hands-on role in ongoing firm-wide projects and business development initiatives.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a practice environment.
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a portfolio independently.
  • Excellent IT skills with strong knowledge of Xero and other cloud accounting platforms.
  • Familiarity with CCH is desirable.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
