Logistics Operations Manager

The Client:

They lead the market in offering high-end moving services, dedicated to minimizing the environmental footprint of each move. The client base is very much based at the prestige end & also encompasses elements of government related removals.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a proven Operations Manager, ideally with Removals experience, to manage all aspects of their operations across three locations, all within 30 min drive from their Wincanton office. No travel is required, however, flexibility would be greatly appreciated when needed. You will be responsible for leading and making crucial daily decisions, with support from our department heads and direct reporting to the Managing Directors.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead all operations across various departments with support from management teams in Transport, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Review & direct all removal activity including collections, storage, planning resources, managing people & communicating with clients.
  • Working closely with your management team including 2 transport managers, a depot manager & operatives
  • Proactively seek solutions to operational challenges.
  • Ensure vehicle standards, maintenance schedules, repairs, staff levels, regulations, time directives, and compliance are met.
  • Guarantee full compliance with departmental Driving Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • Oversee adherence to company procedures and other legal requirements.
  • Manage the efficiency, effectiveness, and cleanliness of three depots.
  • Oversee staff levels.
  • Handle client interactions, complaints, and compliance issues, being the ultimate point of accountability.

About you:

  • Skills in flexibility, leadership, and decision-making.
  • Calm under pressure
  • Ideally will have come from the removals or military sector
  • Holds CPC National/International or equivalent qualifications in transport operations.
  • Experience in transport management.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly MS Word and Excel.
  • Possesses a full UK Driving Licence.
