Cameron James Professional Recruitment is excited to partner with a Hampshire-based N4P known for its commercial acumen to recruit a Finance Business Partner. They are seeking a talented finance professional to transform the finance function, enhance reporting and budgeting processes, and provide financial project management expertise to improve business performance and drive impactful financial management. The role involves visiting a number of local sites and dealing with site directorsMain Responsibilities

  • Annual Budget Preparation: Lead the preparation of accurate and timely annual budgets in consultation with business managers. Challenge and recommend adjustments to ensure the budget meets strategic objectives, while ensuring strong engagement and accountability.
  • Forecasting and Estimates: Prepare accurate and timely forecasts and latest estimates. Provide advice and support to managers on budgets to ensure targets and objectives are met.
  • Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely internal and external reports, including reporting to the board of trustees, local authority partners, and funders. Manage the grant and donation pipeline, ensuring visibility of income and advising on models for full cost recovery. Lead and participate in internal governance forums, regularly reviewing internal reports to analyse trends and performance.
  • Operational Systems Development: Lead the trust’s operational systems development and integration. Develop and lead cross-functional working groups to ensure systems meet business requirements.
  • Management Processes: Develop and implement management processes and accountability for all accounts management and transaction processing, ensuring they are fit for current and future growth. Manage development through system providers in a timely and planned manner.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Sustain and grow strategic relationships with key stakeholders, fostering productive working relationships that enhance collaboration, enable innovation, and improve the reputation, impact, and sustainability of the organisation.
  • Accruals and Reporting: Manage accruals, prepayments, and deferred grants. Develop and produce content for monthly management reports aligned with business needs.
  • Commercial Procedures: Provide effective commercial procedures and initiate changes to ensure key operational, commercial, and financial targets are delivered.
  • Financial Analysis and Insight: Provide analysis and deliver insights that link financial reports to business strategies.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Group Financial Controller should have:

  • Part-qualified or Fully Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with substantial experience in finance and accounting, including collaboration with non-finance managers.
  • Proven experience in financial controls and related processes, with practical application and management of controls.
  • Extensive experience in producing management and statutory financial statements.
  • Significant experience in developing and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent IT skills, including advanced/intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
