Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Winsford-based SEND School that supports learners from EYFS - KS4 as they are looking to recruit an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to support the Year 2 class. This is a full-time permanent position 8:45am - 3:45pm. Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be based in the Year 2 class, supporting the class teacher to offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment. You will be supporting a number of pupils across the class on a 1:1 basis, all of whom have varying levels of needs and mixed diagnosis. This class can be disruptive, so a strong background in behaviour management and the ability to implement positive behaviour strategies to best suit your pupils' needs and emotional states is paramount. You will implement traffic light systems, reward charts and utilise the sensory room to promote positive behaviours and learning. Other duties will include intervention and booster sessions and phonics. As well as supporting the Year 2 class, you may also be asked to support the school of a needs basis.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience within a classroom environment within the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience delivering positive behaviour strategies
  • Experience supporting SEN
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification is advantageous but not essential
