About the Role

As a Senior Social Worker in the Children Looked After Team, you will be responsible for providing long-term support, care planning, and safeguarding for children in care. You will work closely with children, foster carers, families, and partner agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of looked-after children, providing them with ongoing support and advocacy.
  • Develop and review care plans, ensuring children’s needs are met and their voices are heard.
  • Work collaboratively with foster carers, residential providers, schools, and health professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Support children with life story work, helping them understand their journey and identity.
  • Prepare reports and attend looked-after child reviews, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings.
  • Mentor and support less experienced social workers, contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Ensure all work complies with statutory guidelines, policies, and safeguarding best practices.
About You

? A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.? Significant experience in children’s social work, particularly supporting looked-after children.? Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, care planning, and permanency options.? Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, ensuring children feel supported and valued.? Ability to manage complex caseloads while maintaining high standards of practice.? A commitment to helping children in care achieve stability and positive life outcomes.
