Are you an experienced and dedicated Social Worker looking to take the next step in your career? Join Surrey’s Children with Disabilities Team, where you will play a key role in supporting children and young people with disabilities to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

As an Advanced Social Worker, you will work with children and families where complex needs, safeguarding, and specialist interventions are required. You will provide expert social work support, ensuring that children receive tailored care, services, and safeguarding interventions to enhance their well-being and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold a manageable caseload of children and young people with disabilities who require specialist social work intervention.
  • Conduct assessments and care planning under the Children Act 1989, the Care Act 2014, and other relevant legislation.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentoring to social workers and newly qualified staff, supporting professional development.
  • Work in partnership with healthcare providers, education services, and family support teams to create coordinated care plans.
  • Advocate for children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights upheld.
  • Undertake safeguarding investigations and risk assessments to ensure children’s safety and well-being.
  • Contribute to service improvement, policy development, and best practice initiatives.
About You

? A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.? Significant experience in children’s social work, safeguarding, and working with children with disabilities.? Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act, Care Act, and SEND Code of Practice.? Excellent assessment, risk management, and care planning skills.? Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff is desirable.? A commitment to ensuring children with disabilities receive the best possible care and support.
