Job Title: Accountant

Location: Winnersh Triangle (free parking and within easy reach of all public transport routes)

3 month temp contract - £180 - £200 per day + holiday pay

Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 at home

Role Overview

Our client is a highly reputable, US-owned bio-tech organisation, with cutting edge systems and technology. Due to a recent re-organisation, they seek an experienced Accountant to support the growing finance team. You will be responsible for the management and execution of financial processes within our client's organisation. The role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations, as well as a variety of Financial and Management Accounting duties, and the individual will report to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and process journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, intercompany).
  • Support the production of management accounts and financial statements.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure VAT returns, payroll journals, and other tax-related submissions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with external auditors, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Participate in process improvements and finance projects as needed.
  • Support any other operational tasks specific to the role.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by Experience
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulations.

Additional Information

This role is a temporary position for a duration of 3 months and you will be based at their offices in Winnersh Triangle, with hybrid working on offer (3 days in the office and 2 at home).
