Health and Safety Advisor (Nights)

Are you a health and safety advisor looking to join a business that’s heavily invested in health and safety? You’ll be a key part of the company’s continued safety journey. The role of Health and Safety officer is a newly created part of the team, to support our client’s busiest activity time, on their night shift. Our client is a growing logistics business based in the West Midlands.

Working pattern: Nights Monday to Friday

Location: Wolverhampton

Salary £35,000 -£40,000

About the role

  • Enhance health and safety engagement by promoting a health and safety culture through training, meetings, audits and inspections and communication across the night shift.
  • Develop and uphold safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory standards.
  • Manage company risk assessments.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring reports are completed by the end of each work night.
  • Track, document, and report safety and compliance matters, presenting analysis and agreed actions at company safety meetings.
  • Design and deliver safety training related to safe work systems.
  • Collaborate with the training team to conduct colleague inductions.
  • Perform regular site audits, identifying and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation relating to company activities including vehicles.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and visiting drivers.
  • Work closely with the HSE Manager on all safety, compliance, and training matters.

About you:

You will have previous experience in a health and safety role in an industrial environment.

Hold a Nebosh Certificate or equivalent qualification.

Be able to work an 8-hour night shift pattern Monday - Friday (5 days per week).
