Faber.  Our Wolverhampton-based client is actively seeking a FP&A Manager with expertise in IBM Cognos TM1 to join their team. This brand newly created position represents an exciting opportunity to truly shape the role of FP&A within a successful and diverse provider of consumer goods and services. This will be a standalone role initially, with the potential to develop into a leadership position over time.Responsibilities of the FP&A Manager include:
  • Lead the development of a 5-year financial planning model using IBM Cognos TM1, incorporating various scenarios and forecasts to support strategic decision-making
  • Create financial planning templates for business units that integrate into the overall corporate planning model
  • Simplify the rolling forecast process by developing an in-year forecasting model that feeds into the 5-year plan
  • Design templates to evaluate capital proposals, which can be integrated into the business plan once approved
  • Ensure seamless integration of financial data into IBM Cognos TM1, maintaining a single source of truth for reporting and analysis, and develop TM1 as the primary reporting portal
  • Use IBM Cognos TM1 to perform detailed scenario analysis, testing assumptions, and evaluating potential outcomes
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and executive teams to gather input and share insights, ensuring alignment of financial plans with corporate goals
  • Develop and present financial reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos TM1, providing actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Stay updated on the latest features of IBM Cognos TM1 to enhance the planning process and model accuracy
  • Improve cash flow understanding by creating models that reflect the business's unique characteristics and income streams
The successful FP&A Manager will require the following knowledge and experience:
  • Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
  • Expertise in IBM Cognos TM1
  • A passion for planning and forecasting
  • The ability to create and develop planning tools and forecasting models, leveraging the full capability of the system
  • The confidence and skill for proactively partnering colleagues outside of finance
