We are excited to collaborate with a renowned UK-based property consultancy, currently seeking passionate and motivated Senior Ecologists to join their growing Ecology team in Worcester. Senior Ecologist Role:As a Senior Ecologist, you will work alongside an integrated ecology and planning team, supporting significant development projects nationwide. This role offers a blend of office work and fieldwork, ensuring a dynamic and varied working experience. You will have the flexibility to work from our offices in Birmingham, Worcester, Nottingham, or remotely from home. Fieldwork may occasionally involve overnight stays, with all costs fully covered.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership: Take the lead in planning, managing, and delivering a wide range of ecological projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes within budget and deadlines.

Mentorship and Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior ecologists, sharing your expertise to support their professional growth and development.

Technical Oversight: Oversee and review ecological surveys, assessments, and reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders, providing expert ecological advice and ensuring project objectives are met.

Biodiversity Strategies: Develop and implement strategies for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), habitat management, and conservation planning, ensuring ecological best practices are integrated into projects.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with planning, design, and environmental teams to integrate ecological considerations into larger development projects.

Field Surveys and Assessments: Lead and supervise the execution of complex field surveys for protected species and habitats, ensuring data collection adheres to high standards.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects meet relevant environmental legislation and regulations, including preparing and submitting necessary applications and permits.

Qualifications and Experience:Essential:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Genuine enthusiasm and commitment to ecology and environmental conservation.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Protected Species Licence(s)

Desirable:

  • Strong analytical and report-writing abilities.
  • Familiarity with ecological data analysis tools and software.
  • BNG Experience.
  • Protected Species Licence(s).
  • FISC Level 3.
