We are currently representing a respected client who is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team at their head office located in Wrexham. This position is ideal for individuals who have a solid background in accounts, bookkeeping, and managing both purchase and sales ledgers. The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or possess an equivalent accountancy qualification.
Day-to-day of the role:- Answering purchase and sales ledger queries.
- Reconciling supplier statements and payments.
- Managing bank balance reconciliations.
- Assisting with transactional processing duties including posting and raising invoices, and credit control.
- Handling weekly external payroll payments and journals.
- Preparing monthly and annual ledger reconciliations.
- Managing intercompany journals and recharges.
- Allocating expenses and managing credit card reconciliations.
- Adapting to additional responsibilities as requested by the line manager.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- AAT qualification or equivalent accountancy certification.
- Desirable: Experience with Sage 50.
- Preferable: Experience within the construction industry and in an SME environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to change and problem solve.
- Maintaining a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.
