We are partnered with a growing Engineering company who are looking for a strategic thinking Finance Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and financial expertise, coupled with a proactive approach to process improvement and business insight.
You will have the opportunity to oversee and enhance financial operations, contribute to key decision-making processes, and play a vital role in system and process optimisation's. This role is perfect for a forward-thinking accountant looking to leverage their skills in management and financial accounting while leading improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee accurate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) and ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
- Collaborate on budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies aligned with business goals.
- Lead audit preparations and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and investments, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with operational teams in the business to understand cost drivers, improve efficiency and support project-based accounting.
- Implement robust cost control measures, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.
- Partner with operational teams to improve cost efficiency and project-based accounting.
- Mentor non-finance colleagues and contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Play a key role in acquisition projects, including contract management and financial transitions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
- Minimum of 7 years experience in management accounting.
- Experience within Manufacturing, Engineering, Fabrication (or similar sectors) would be beneficial.
- Proven track record of participating in audits, including preparation and management of audit processes.
- Experience in mergers, acquisitions, and buyouts, including due diligence and integration.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, Excel, and financial regulations.
- Strong leadership with analytical and communication skills.
