Field and Support Engineer
Location: Wymondham
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Are you a skilled Field and Support Engineer looking for a role that combines technical expertise with customer interaction? Our client, an industry-leading engineering company, is seeking a Field and Support Engineer to provide world-class service, troubleshooting, and support for cutting-edge electric motor and drive systems.

About the Role:

Following a successful probation period, this role will involve up to 70% travel to customer sites, with all expenses covered. You will play a key role in system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and customer validation, both onsite and remotely. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering development teams and global customers, ensuring smooth pre- and post-production processes while building long-term customer partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-, production, and post-production support for customers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with motors and drive systems.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to ensure customer test, production, and delivery deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with wider engineering teams on planning and process improvements.
  • Provide real-time feedback on field service operations and suggest best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data management to reflect project progress.
  • Maintain high safety standards in line with HSE principles.
  • Travel across the UK and internationally to customer locations as required.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Engineering qualification in a relevant discipline OR proven track record in a similar field.
  • Experience working in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and planning abilities.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a "can-do" attitude.
  • Resilient under pressure, especially when working to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
