You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the lower 48 U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Filings - prepare small and large group rate filings, Mental Health Parity filings, and secure approvals 
  • Pricing Analysis - perform periodic analysis of the projected experience by line of business, and suggest appropriate pricing strategies to Health Plan 
  • Rate Implementation - update and maintain the rating systems for both small group and large group
  • Product Pricing - perform pricing of new products and/or plan designs using the company’s proprietary medical and pharmacy benefit pricing tools
  • Competitive Analysis - gather and analyze rate and plan information for primary competitors
  • Large Group - support the growth of large group by providing timely financial outlook 
  • Communication - able to interact with state’s regulators and matrix partners, and represent actuarial effectively

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 2 or more actuarial exams passed
  • 2+ years of actuarial experience 
  • Experience communicating technical information to matrix partners (Finance, Business)
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in MS Excel 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ACA pricing and rate filling
  • Experience in engaging with external clients (DOI) 
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with SQL or similar programming language
  • Proven good communication/presentation skills
  • Proven excellent project management and prioritization skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
