We are seeking a Commodity Buyer to support purchasing activities, ensuring alignment with company goals for cost, quality, innovation, and delivery. This role involves managing the supply base, achieving cost savings, and upholding health, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select suppliers and develop strategies to meet business and project needs.
  • Consistently aim to meet or exceed cost improvement targets in a sustainable and measurable way.
  • Manage suppliers and set performance benchmarks.
  • Establish production supply agreements with optimal commercial terms.
  • Develop and maintain commodity strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Support engineering change management for supplied components and materials.
  • Engage in continuous improvement processes across supplier quality, cost, innovation, delivery, and management.
  • Address quality issues with suppliers, providing support to the quality engineer as needed.
  • Maintain the Purchasing database, including expenditures, budgets, and supplier information.
  • Coordinate stakeholder activities to achieve business improvement goals.
  • Manage all SAP-related functions relevant to suppliers and commodities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years in an engineering/manufacturing purchasing environment.
  • CIPS membership or a relevant business qualification is desirable.
  • Proficient in cost improvement techniques.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
