We are looking to recruit a Commodity Buyer, with the main purpose to meet company goals, not only for cost and quality but also innovation and delivery.

Working with a leading automotive supplier the main duties of the role will include supplier selection and strategy, meeting all business and project requirements. Identifying a variety of business goals for cost improvement and striving to continuously achieve your goals. Set the supplier performance targets and communicating these in a clear and concise manner.

Responsibilities of the Commodity Buyer:

Support the engineering change management of the supplied materials and components.
Participate in continuous improvement processes, including supplier quality, cost and innovation.
Manage all SAP related function, which are relevant to both supplier and commodity.
Maintenance of the purchasing database, budgets, spends and suppliers.
Raise quality care points, whilst also liaising with other departments regarding any quality concerns.
Participate in training and development programmes, sharing your knowledge with the wider teams.

What we are looking for in the Commodity Buyer:

A good communicator, who is both organised and methodical.
A tenacious and results driven person with a continuous improvement mindset.
Previous experience in purchasing, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Experience and an understanding of APQP, PPAP, TS-16949, cost tracking and quotation analysis.
Excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
