Mortgage Services Officer

We are seeking a Mortgage Services Officer to join established Mortgage firm in the beautiful city of Bath. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute significantly to the growth of our organisation and to meet the ongoing requirements of our customers. You will be instrumental in processing mortgage applications from offer to completion and managing all aspects of existing customer queries.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Monitor and ensure daily tasks are performed by the Post Offer team within appropriate timescales, implementing a weekly rota.
  • Process all mortgage completions, ensuring effective and timely communication with solicitors and direct customers, while meeting SLAs.
  • Handle complaints within required timescales.
  • Actively manage the organisation’s arrears cases through both written and verbal communication with borrowers, agreeing on forbearance where suitable and instructing litigation where necessary.
  • Identify and monitor vulnerable customers and maintain records as appropriate.
  • Update and maintain process guides and provide redemption statements upon request.
  • Ensure accurate and swift remittance of procuration fee payments.
  • Maintain accurate records within our core systems and document repository.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Business Change team during group initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in manual, non-scored, mortgage underwriting.
  • Full CeMAP qualification; CeRER is desirable.
  • Solid understanding of financial accounts.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret complex documents.
  • Confident decision-making skills, including the ability to balance risk and reward.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to also work independently.
