We are currently partnering with a Public Sector organisation, who are recruiting for a Financial Accountant specialising in Capital and Close Down to join their team on a temporary basis of 6-9 months.This is a full-time position with a daily rate of up to £600 umb and is due to start as soon as possible.The organisation is West Midlands based. The role is predominantly remote but may require office presence depending on business needs.Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Preparing statutory financial statements for the organisation and all its subsidiaries
- Coordinating capital funding allocation across the capital programme and providing strategic advice where necessary
- Managing the fixed asset register and supporting improvement to systems and processes
- Implementing accounting standards in accordance to Local Authority Code of Practice
- Developing systems and processing following the implementation of IFRS16 Lease Accounting and acting as the technical lead for IFRS16 Lease Accounting
- Acting as key point of contact for external auditors for fixed assets (PPE) and capital grants
- Completing capital funding posting and reconciliations between capital funding summary and deferred capital grants monthly
Experience required:
- CCAB qualified (or close to qualification) or equivalent QBE
- Capital funding, fixed assets and IFRS16
