Robert Half is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of their client, a UK subsidiary of a large, listed international group. With a turnover of £30 million, this fast-growing and dynamic organisation is based in Birmingham and is seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional to contribute to the financial operations of a thriving business and collaborate with international stakeholders.

About the Role

As the Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with UK financial regulations. This position requires a meticulous and proactive individual with a strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and intercompany reporting processes.

You will report directly to the Finance Manager and work closely with the Chinese parent company, providing exposure to complex financial operations within a multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Assist in preparing consolidated financial reports for submission to the parent company.
  1. Management Accounts:
  • Produce monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and insightful commentary.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting to align with the company's strategic objectives.
  1. Compliance and Audit:
  • Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations, including VAT, corporation tax, and PAYE.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, ensuring efficient audit processes.
  1. Intercompany Transactions:
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and manage group reporting processes.
  • Ensure adherence to transfer pricing policies and regulations.
  1. Cash Flow Management:
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow to maintain sufficient liquidity for operations.
  • Manage foreign exchange exposure and report on currency risks.
  1. Systems and Process Improvements:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes.
  • Support the implementation of new financial systems and software as required.

About You

We are seeking a fully qualified accountant who is detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative, with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (fully qualified).
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, ideally within a multinational or subsidiary environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in foreign exchange management.
  • Background in manufacturing, retail, or technology sectors.
