Our client is a well established, innovative property and construction business based in Birmingham. A superb opportunity has been created for a Financial Controller to join the organisation at an exciting time in their journey.

With a period of high growth ahead and significant financial backing, the company is seeking a highly motivated, technically strong Financial Controller to join their leadership team.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical knowledge and expertise.Working closely with the Finance Director, the key responsibilities will include:

  • Management and statutory reporting for the Group.
  • Company secretarial and tax planning.
  • Project management of key initiatives to include systems upgrades, implementation of controls and ensuring the finance team is fit-for-purpose.
  • Day-to-day financial stewardship including project and category cost coding, approval of payments, VAT returns and month-end reconciliations.
  • Supporting project funding activity, including project cost to complete reports.
  • Monthly / quarterly management reporting and Group cashflow forecasts.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a track record at Finance Manager level or above. Prior experience within the property / real estate / construction sectors is highly desirable, as is demonstrable evidence of working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

You will be self-motivated, able to work independently in a holistic leadership role and have the confidence and gravitas to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.

This is an on-site role, five days per week, with free parking available.
