Gleeson Recruitment Group are exclusively partnered with a well known South Birmingham business to recruit a Group Financial Accountant. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the accurate reporting of the Group's financial results in compliance with IFRS, while also providing valuable business support to various teams. You will be based in the South Birmingham head office, with a salary of £55,000 + car allowance and enhanced benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and post key financial reporting areas, including IFRS 15, provisions for legal claims, and a new loyalty programme.
  • Manage intercompany balance sheet accounts, working collaboratively across the finance team to confirm balances and reconcile accounts.
  • Partner with the finance and legal departments, producing monthly variance reports, supporting cost control, and creating budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations within areas of responsibility.
  • Engage with external auditors, providing updated accounting papers on new standards, judgements, and management estimates.
  • Support the Group Financial Reporting Manager in delivering ad-hoc accounting advice to the business.

About You:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, newly or recently qualified.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, strong written and verbal communication, and high attention to detail.
  • A background in financial reporting, ideally across multiple companies, and a proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach, the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, and a commitment to supporting team objectives.
