Job Opportunity: Interim Financial Controller (Bristol)The Hays Bristol finance team is recruiting for an Interim Financial Controller for one of our clients in Bristol. To cover a busy period and support the Finance Director, who is currently working part-time due to project commitments and health reasons.About You:The Financial Controller will be an excellent communicator with experience of leading and developing a team. They will be organised, with meticulous attention to detail, enabling them to effectively oversee our purchase ledger and sales ledger functions and take full responsibility for balance sheet transactions and reconciliations. Key Details:

  • Start Date: Interviews as soon as this week, with an ideal start next week
  • Contract Length: 3-6 months
  • Pay/Day Rate: Competitive day rate via PAYE or Umbrella (experience dependent), inside IR35
  • Team:6 in finance, reporting to the FD, managing a team of 4

Job Specification:Lead the Finance team by implementing and managing financial controls and procedures, leading on the year-end financial statement preparation, and developing a team of part-qualified or qualified-by-experience individuals (4 in total).Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage financial controls and procedures
  • Comply with FRS 102 guidelines and Charity Commission statutory reporting
  • Prepare annual financial statements
  • Lead annual external audits
  • Manage a team of part-qualified and qualified-by-experience staff (4 in total)

Qualifications/Experience required:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 5+ years post-qualification experience
  • Experienced manager with experience deputising for the Director of Finance
