Job Overview
We are seeking a part-time Band 6 Community Occupational Therapist to join the Dementia Team, based at Hall Court, Telford, or Severnfields Health Village, Shrewsbury. This is a temporary 12-week role starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work 22.5 hours per week (days to be discussed at the interview). Mileage is reimbursed at 40p per mile, and the role operates under Direct Engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions.
- Offer consultative knowledge and support to the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Independently manage a caseload of service users, including care coordination when required.
- Perform a blend of generic and profession-specific duties, including participation in team duty roles.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, families, carers, and local communities.
- Maintain clear communication using creative and innovative methods.
- Work autonomously within multidisciplinary teams, with supervision from the Clinical Lead and support from specialist Occupational Therapists.
Requirements
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience in mental health and community settings.
- Ability to visit patients in their homes; essential car driver with access to a vehicle.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Availability to start immediately for a 12-week assignment.
