We're recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join an employer of choice based in the Cambridge area. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with a variety of financial reporting, consolidation, and statutory accounts preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the month-end close process, preparing journals for corporate and holding companies, managing intercompany reconciliations, and tracking progress across teams.
* Contribute to consolidation by raising journals and adjustments, ensuring the accuracy of group balance sheet and income statement movements.
* Prepare financial schedules for internal and external reporting, including reporting to the parent company.
* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for corporate entities.
* Provide detailed and timely information to external auditors for both group and overseas audits.
* Assist with preparing financial statements under FRS 102 using relevant software.
* Contribute to the preparation of the group's annual report, ensuring compliance with IFRS.
* Adhere to SOX control requirements, ensuring all relevant processes are followed.
* Support ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
* Part-qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
* Experience in auditing is preferred.
* Strong Excel skills and the ability to quickly learn finance systems.
* Excellent technical accounting abilities.
* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining excellent financial controls.
* Able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
