Client Details

A great opportunity for a Merchandiser to work for a leading business in home décor. They have been trading for over 40 years and sell everything from Beds, Chairs, cushions/ throws etc.

Description

  • Analysing past sales figures/trends to anticipate future product needs.
  • Supporting the Head of Supply Chain in developing the merchandising plan
  • Pro-actively pushing back/pulling forward stock as appropriate (before it reaches the UK)
  • Working closely with/supporting the Operations team in relation to varying stock issues
  • Relaying the merchandising plan to the buyer who, in turn, can decide on what products, styles, colours etc to purchase and from which suppliers.
  • Monitoring stock movement, consider markdowns, promotions or clear outs etc.
  • Preparing sales forecasts and profit/loss forecasts
  • Managing stock levels
  • Representing supply chain throughout the integration on the upgrade of our ERP system and potentially the set up of a new stock system
  • Supporting the newly extended buying team with report writing and production

Profile

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A tenacious approach to dealing with suppliers (including those based overseas)
  • A proven ability to mentor/supervise junior team members, and lead by example
  • Advanced level Excel skills (adept with formulae, V lookups and calculations)
  • Experience in utilising systems to work to the advantage of the supply chain team
  • A capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work to tight deadlines
