Production Manager/Head Baker
Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (Negotiable depending on experience)
Hours: Largely daytime shifts 5am-2pm over 5 days. (42 ½ hours per week plus unpaid meal breaks of 30 mins each day but all subject to needs of the business)
Our client is a long established and reputable independently owned bakery situated just outside the New Forest between Bournemouth and Southampton.
Over 40 years the business has developed a unique style where they integrate traditional products with Speciality and Artisan bread cakes and savouries that are sold through their shop but also events, shows, markets and within buffets and from outside catering outlets.
The bakery is expanding their production and need a full time Production Manager to support that expansion.
The Role
This is a hands-on position that requires an exceptional baker who is able to both manage the production and ensure all elements of the bakery production are managed beyond exceptional. It is not an office-based position but there is office work included, relating to records keeping, costings, ordering and management of stock and products, waste control and legislation compliances.
The successful applicant will receive support, encouragement and freedom to professionalise and manage the business through its next development stage.
They are about to open their first satellite shop so ensuring consistency and controls within the production are both achieved and extended.
Skills and Qualifications
Some confectionary experience is required.
